Ed Gein Human Blood Painting

There are few names more haunting to us than Ed Gein, the infamous killer of Plainfield Wisconsin. Ed was not a serial killer, but something a bit darker. When a small town general store manager went missing in 1957 no one suspected gentle Ed, but evidence led them right to his home where not only her mutilated body was discovered, but the home interior unearthed multitudes of human remains…all fashioned into horrific creations such as chairs, lamps, belts, gloves, and skin-suits. Gein, having been subject to his mother’s religious psychosis and idealisms, lost himself after her passing, committing to grave-robbing in an attempt to resurrect the dead, going as far as to dress in a suit made of sewn corpses to channel her from the grave.

I chose to paint this picture from the crime scene photos available, adding in Ed and a few details from eye-witness statements. All done in human blood mixed with the dirt from Edward Geins grave and property, measuring 20x16”. A COA is present with this piece.
