This collaborative piece is a portrait of the infamous American serial killer John Wayne Gacy. The right side, painted by Jeremy Lee Pauley, is of Gacys personification of Pogo the clown. The left is done by myself, Sophie Mae Vee, of the eerie grinning mugshot taken at his arrest.
Gacy is one of the world’s most notorious serial killers in history, targeting young men and burying them in the crawl space beneath his home. Gacy prided himself on his social abilities and charisma that led him to his infatuation of entertaining young children as “Pogo the Clown”.
This painting is split to showcase the stark personality this killer was known for, that of a violent criminal, and prominent town-folk and children’s entertainer…
